Preferred Provider Organizations

Northwestern Mutual offers preferred provider plans, or PPOs, which have the benefits of both a health management organization, or HMO, and fee-for-service plan, the traditional way that health care has been covered.  In a PPO plan, members can use health care providers in the Preferred Provider’s network at a lower cost while still being able to choose specialists from outside of the network, if desired.

 

Point of Service Plans

Point of Service Plans, or POSs, combine features of PPOs and HMOs, offering members even more choices.  Members enjoy low premiums and co-payments.

Dental Insurance

Northwestern Dental offers several plans for dental insurance.  The choice in plans allows employers to choose from different deductibles and benefit maximums.  An employer might choose to provide family coverage and orthodontic coverage.  In some cases, employers can choose PPO plans.

 

Vision Insurance

Northwestern Dental offers several choices in vision plans.  An employer can choose to cover an employee only, or the employee’s family.  The employer can choose to cover annual eye exams.  The employer might also be able to choose a PPO for his or her vision plan.

 

Section 125 Plans

Section 125 Plans allow both employers and employees to save on their taxes while attending to their health care needs.  There are three types of Plans available, Premium Only, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Full Cafeteria Plan.
